Episode IX - Bad Movies = Bad Podcast
The Sisters' present their very first podcast of 2007!Woohooo!
This podcast is special for a couple of reasons, but not-so-special for many more! Special because it is our first one this year, and it comes by special request of our fan. Lydia...this podcast is dedicated to you!
In this podcast we discuss some bad movies we've seen. We talk about our "baseline" for bad movies "The Little Angels" (or whatever it was called!) and the most recent we've seen, "Children of Men". We discuss some other bad ones like "Whale Rider", "Rabbit Proof Fence" and "Citizen Kane".
We did digress a little, as is our trademark, to talk a bit about the trouble my dog has getting onto the couch, but for the most part we stayed on the topic of bad movies and what makes them that way.
Oh, we also finally found the "sign off" we've been looking for and battled it out through some minor technical glitch at the end of the podcast.
Disclaimer: We are amateurs who know not what we are doing. Listen at your own risk.

Episode VIII - Stupid Questions and Drive-Thru Mishaps
Katie and Sue observe some of the "stupid questions" they are asked at the post office, airport and various other places.Katie shares about some of the experiences single parents sometimes have with the "odd jobs" they need to do in order to keep food on the table.
And...we all have 'em...you know, those crazy experiences at the drive thru? Well, Katie and Sue share some of their experiences with placing orders to a microphone.
We still have no idea what we are doing, but we are having fun doing it! We haven't podcasted since last April, so, you have had plenty of time to recoup! It was time for some fresh material!

Episode VII - Parenting Tips for Single Moms
Sue, the "podmaster", and Katie, the _________? (you need to listen to be able to fill in this blank, and boy did it provide for a HUGE laugh!), share some parenting tips for single moms.Katie's main responsibility as a parent is to set a Godly example for her children.
Single parents have needs that are often not recognized by society and/or the church. Katie addresses some of these needs and offers some suggestions as to how the Church, can assist these single parents with their responsibilities.
1 Timothy 5:3
"Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need."The divorced and single mothers are the "widows" of today's society. The church should recognize this and strive to provide for the needs of single parents, and for the children of these single parents.
Some needs of single mothers:
- financial
- providing a paternal role model for her children
- personal fulfillment
- emotional and spiritual support
- basic household repairs and maintanence
- transportation issues (I can't be in two places at once!)
- Care for the "widows"
- financial support
- offer help with transporting children to/from school, church, community activities, games, etc. Carpool!
- Provide emotional and spiritual support through ministries to singles; bible studies, support groups in which ideas and struggles of parenting can be shared.
- Provide a ministry that would allow for skilled people to help single moms with household repairs and maintanence.
- Healthy two-parent homes can "adopt" the children of the single parent and care for them for a weekend, or a day. to give mom "a break" and instill the values of a functional home.
For comedy relief, this podcast will again feature a visit by Whyzer, the "wonder-dog", who really knows how to push Sue's buttons, which triggers an on-air "conniption".
We hope you enjoy these tips for single parents, namely, for single moms.
