Episode VII - Parenting Tips for Single Moms
Sue, the "podmaster", and Katie, the _________? (you need to listen to be able to fill in this blank, and boy did it provide for a HUGE laugh!), share some parenting tips for single moms.Katie's main responsibility as a parent is to set a Godly example for her children.
Single parents have needs that are often not recognized by society and/or the church. Katie addresses some of these needs and offers some suggestions as to how the Church, can assist these single parents with their responsibilities.
1 Timothy 5:3
"Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need."The divorced and single mothers are the "widows" of today's society. The church should recognize this and strive to provide for the needs of single parents, and for the children of these single parents.
Some needs of single mothers:
- financial
- providing a paternal role model for her children
- personal fulfillment
- emotional and spiritual support
- basic household repairs and maintanence
- transportation issues (I can't be in two places at once!)
- Care for the "widows"
- financial support
- offer help with transporting children to/from school, church, community activities, games, etc. Carpool!
- Provide emotional and spiritual support through ministries to singles; bible studies, support groups in which ideas and struggles of parenting can be shared.
- Provide a ministry that would allow for skilled people to help single moms with household repairs and maintanence.
- Healthy two-parent homes can "adopt" the children of the single parent and care for them for a weekend, or a day. to give mom "a break" and instill the values of a functional home.
For comedy relief, this podcast will again feature a visit by Whyzer, the "wonder-dog", who really knows how to push Sue's buttons, which triggers an on-air "conniption".
We hope you enjoy these tips for single parents, namely, for single moms.

Here from Blog Explosion and thought I would say hello. I'm not a single mom (I'm not a mom at all, except to my cat), but I enjoyed your post.
Thanks for stopping by to say hello! :-)
If the political church held to these truths, this country would be better off. Thank you.
